Its attraction is beyond us

Whats the deal with short white guys and tall black guys? Whatever it is the Hawk has alot of it. Besides the interacial thing I dont know why any guy goes to the hawk. My friends and I had a few drinks. Someone snagged our table while we played pool. Some dude skipped our songs on teh jukebox to play an hour of disco crap. And teh bartneder flirted with a man for tips while we waited patiently for service. By nine oclock all the semi normal people left. total waste of time and money. And the draft beer tasted like piss. Who needs it.

seen better days

Last few times i went the hawk was a down right freek show. grungy old men, bad music, and general boring atmosphere. i like bears and working guys but the hawk men were a total different class of men. and not a good one. once every couple of weeks or so the hawk will rock but looks like its hit a dry spell. wait til warmer weather arrives and maybe the crowd will pick up. not like it used to be.

Its fun if you are a real guy

Guys are using this site to vent their personal bitterness. fine. no bar in cleveland is perfect. honestly there aren't many good one. this is cleveland not chicago newyork or miami. the bars are what you make of them. anyone can have fun at the hawk. heres the secret: approach someone and talk to them. some guys cruise. some hang out and watch the game on television. some chat with friends or make new ones. i see a lot of comments about bears and chubs and yeah there are many of those men. but many younger guys drink here too. its up to you if you want to cry in your cosmo or walk up to someone and say hi. thats all any bar is. just ignore the occasional loud drunks. find a good seat. and just have fun. if you take attitude with people odds are they will return the favor. so if you bug someone who isnt interested, play tons of shitty music on the jukebox or dont tip the bartender then expect to have guys ignore you. its a bar. its not bounce but if you wanted bounce or twist you would have gone there anyway

Get real bitches

No, the hawk is not a palace, neither is it a shithole. But it is a dive. Its not classy, its not pretty and neither are the men who go here. No its not cruisy but it would be nice to chill in a bar that isnt inhabited solely by men about to check into a nursing home. And its not a friendly bar no matter what the review below says. Its friendly if you go with friends or if you want to hit up a lonely old man for drinks. Otherwise unless you are a bear or cub most men will not pay attention to you. so whats fun about that? and cocktails is not a filthy bar with filthy customers. For someone who thinks the hawk is a great place, i dont get the mean attitude toward cocktails, which is a fun and respectable bar.

Everyone says Thursdays rock but my friends and I went there tonight and the place was sad beyond belief. Would rather go to Cocktails. The bartender during happy hour kept the door open even though it was about 30 degrees outside. Forget this bar.
